Inspire or Expire... the choice is yours

Inspire means to take it in, to inhale, to bring in that fresh new air.

The opposite is to expire which means to die, to end, to quit. You have a choice as to whether or not you want to inspire or expire.

Which one is it?

Do you want to bring in that fresh new air or end and quit and perhaps regret your decision. I know, sometimes we do want to expire. We do want it to end, we do want to quit and we do want to just get over it. But sometimes it’s not that easy to ‘just get over it’.

I find that when I am feeling expired, it is because I am spending way too much time regretting the past or worried about the future. I find that the best way to get out of this rut is to bring my attention back to the present.

I find inspiration in many things that surround me. In quotes, in a beautiful photograph or an art piece, in nature, in music, in a good TED talk, and in the beauty that surrounds me daily.

One of the things I do when I am feeling that ‘expired’ and ‘not inspired’ feeling is to just stop whatever I’m doing and put on a piece of music that moves me. I usually feel expired at work, so I find a place that is private, close the door, crank up my music and then just dance.

As David Bowie says, “Let’s dance, put on your red shoes and dance away the blues."
